We've hit the half birthday mark (tomorrow) of Scarlet's first year. At six months, Scarlet (aka Scar-Louie, ScarBar, ScarBaby, Crazy Cakes, and Scar) weighs in at a whopping 19.5 lbs. She's as tall on the charts, though, as she is heavy. Part of the reason for her size may be her serious appetite.
She continues to down formula (I refer to this as powdered gold - $$$!), any and all varieties of baby food, cereal, and has recently taken a liking to pancakes and waffles. We found this out when she snatched one from a classmate sitting beside her at breakfast. Here come textures!
She's just doing so much! She's rolling around on the floor and sitting with support. She often pulls off her socks and eats her feet. She does this thing where she arches her back, and balances on her head and feet. A "back bend" if you will. She also uses this same position to move around the floor. Sort of crawling on her back. You can hardly hold her for a bottle anymore. She constantly is using her feet and pushing off of you to try to get going.
She is talking her little head off. I knew early that Scarlet was going to be a verbal child. She coos and "talks" to anyone that will interact with her. And often just talks to herself. She'll often wake up at 5am and talk to herself for a little bit before drifting back off. Doesn't need or want anything. Just needs to talk it out.
She continues to smile at the drop of a dime. She's really the most pleasant baby. Even when she's sick, you'd never know. She loves watching her big brother and looks for him when she hears his voice. He soaks up the face that he amuses her. Love the two of them together.

| Big stuff! Holding the bottle by herself. We're about 60% with this. |
| Pleased as punch to read a book at the table while we finish dinner. |
| Poor thing. Got her Momma's wild hair. |
| A little snack before bedtime. |
| REALLY trying to get going. |
| Goofball. This makes me wonder if she'll be an acrobat and dangle above crowds by her teeth. |
| And sometimes, she just can't make it to the 7pm mark. |
| Cold granite... |
| ...makes for a happy Scarlet! |
| Double ear infection day. The saddest. |
| Passed out again, early evening. |
| Clearly will like seafood when she's older. |
| Of course you see Scarlet, but do you see Emerson in this picture? |
