With our due date this Sunday (August 3), we had another weekly appointment today. After waiting in the office for what seemed like an eternity, my doc informed me that I am one centimeter dilated and 60% effaced. Hmmm. Not much really. I have a long way to go before anything really happens. He did what he could (I'll spare you the details) to move things along, and said it could be tonight, or it could be a week from today. We have another appointment on Tuesday of next week, and if nothing has happened by then, we'll likely be induced toward the end of next week (August 7th or 8th). I sooo prefer the idea of the middle of the night rushing to the hospital, rather than knowing the birthday of Baby Z ahead of time, but I suppose at this point, we'll take what we can get!
I hope hope hope to not have to see my doc next week. I would love love love for something to happen this weekend, or sooner! Looks like there will be some long walks and spicy food in my very near future :)

Give me an inch...
We had our weekly doctor appointment this afternoon to check progress, or lack thereof. After seeing the newest depressing number on the scale and hearing the baby's heartbeat, we got the news that there is NOTHING going on. No dilation. No effacement. Nothing. My doc even told us he just delivered a baby this morning that was 1.5 weeks past the due date. I asked him how late he thought I may go, and there was no clear answer. I could still go early, could go on my due date, or could go late. I, of course, hope for early! He did confirm that this baby will be at minimum 8 lbs. I asked if that was a factor in timing, and he said that as long as it's not a 10 lb. baby, they don't induce. Argh.
The good news is that the baby and I are both healthy. Not happy, but certainly healthy. I'm enjoying General Tso's Chicken and other spicy foods, walking regularly, and trying to find my acupressure points between my thumb and forefinger.
We go again next Thursday afternoon, and again...I PRAY for progress. "Give me an inch..."

Less than two weeks until Baby Z's arrival
I was inspired to create a blog from a few people who have young ones. It's just such an easy way to allow our family and friends to keep up with me and Jason, as we're expanding our family. And this will save your inboxes from a flood of pictures! I do enough of that already, just imagine what I'll be like once Baby Z arrives!
I'm now 38 weeks pregnant, and it's definitely showing! I've had a great pregnancy, that has been both healthy and happy. The doc says the baby is about 7.5-8 lbs. and expects him/her to be 8+ altogether. I think that sounds like a lovely birth weight, especially since Jason's family has a lot of 10 and 11 lb. babies. Below are a few pregnancy pics. We had a photo shoot a few months with an incredible photographer, and we love love love the pics! We'll be using her for all of our baby photos.
Jessica (Auntie Jessi) started a baby pool, and so far, most people think it's a boy, and most people think it will be August! With an August 3rd due date, I'm shooting for any moment now. We'll see!
