Out like a lamb?

Our last weekend in March didn't bring the warmth or sunshine that we so desperately want this time of year! But, we had a great weekend inside doing crafts with Emerson and getting ready for Easter! We also prepared our kitchen for the cabinet and countertop overhaul this week. Pictures coming soon!

Now that Emerson is feeling better (ear issues the last couple of weeks), it's like the wildness factor has tripled! He is especially goofy lately---making faces, noises, and just being the weirdest kid ever.

Painting the ceramic eggs that Terra and Andrew gave him in an early Easter basket

What's in there???

Faster than the speed of light! (He loooves his riding toys right now!)

An ornery moment...

Good days. Sunshine.

We’ve been soooo enjoying the sunshine in the evenings. Our weekends go so fast, that we squeeze in any and all outside time through the week as we can. Emerson’s playground is perfect for his age. We have lots of fun outside toys to keep him busy and can’t wait to get them all out! This past Friday, Jason and I enjoyed a beverage on the patio while Emerson was busy digging in his sandbox. Not only digging, but lying down in, scooping out and diving into his sandbox (literally, diving). Good thing he loves his showers, because as you can imagine, he had sand everywhere!

He also LOVES to swing. With all the fluid in his poor little head right now, I think he was getting a little dizzy, but he didn’t want to stop.

We had a group of friends over Saturday for a cookout and basketball. Always good times! It was warm enough that we ate outside and the kids played. After Saturday night, the weekend took a different direction with a trip to urgent care and an upper respiratory/ear infection. On the mend now, though.

Riding off into the sunset...

We're loving the warm weather and that the sun is still shining after dinner...

Top o' the mornin' to ya!

Wishing everyone an excellent St. Patty's Day!
Emerson is 1/8 Irish, so certainly a holiday to be celebrated!
The best "Irish" advice I've ever heard...
"Dance as if no one were watching,
Sing as if no one were listening,
And live every day as if it were your last."
A few pics of our little leprechaun this morning...
"Cheese!"
Lounging this morning while we get ready for work...check out those socks!

Check out last year's St. Patty's Day blog here. Emerson has changed so much!

Sushi Fridays, Naked Patio Time, and Finger Painting

We love March for lots of reasons! We have sushi Fridays due to Lent, the weather starts to warm up and we get all the fun that goes along with St. Patty's Day! Below are a few pics from this past weekend...

Emerson ws really trying to work those chopsticks to pick up his macaroni!

He'll take his clothes off. All of them. And then insist on wearing his boots. This time, he also insisted on going out back on the patio. Luckily, it was a warm evening.
(check out that profile!!!)

I had to brace him for the harsh reality that we were going to have to go back inside. And put clothes on.

We had a little art project in honor of St. Pat...with non-toxic paint.

March already?!?!??

How is this possible? I feel like we just got through the holidays!

We had a great February. It just went so fast! Below is a quick rundown of some of what happened in the later weeks in February...

Emerson used his step stool anywhere and everywhere in the house.
To reach anything and everything.
We worked on closing those lips as Emerson gives kisses.

Emerson found lots of hiding spaces throughout the house

Again, with the stepstool. In this drawer are the binks and the toothbrushes, two of his favorite items!

We (Emerson AND I) experienced strep throat for the first time. Not a surprise, I guess, with the way he kisses.

With a sick mom and a sick baby, and a Dad who is out of town for work, comes breakfast in front of the TV. Good times.

Emerson wore his favorite accessory, his John Deere hat, almost every evening.

Emerson realized that although Kramer the cat fits under the gate, he doesn't.

Emerson ate a lot of apples. New favorite food, "Appa!"

Emerson helped in the kitchen by getting out EVERY spice jar and lining them up on the counter.

Emerson went to PB&J and Jazz and stayed close to Mom, Dad and Auntie Jess as it was right before naptime. Culture.
Emerson swiffered. Topless.

Emerson cracked up at the sound of the Swiffer. Topless.

On to March and warmer weather!!!

Peeks!

Where's Emerson? When the need arises for a diaper change, Emerson darts from the room and goes to one of many hiding places. His most recent hiding place is really hilarious. See for yourself...
