What happens in our house between 5:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. is somewhat fascinating to me. From the time we all get in the door from work and school, make dinner, unpack bags, eat dinner, clean up, take baths, prep for bed, feed Emerson again, and then head to bed is like a symphony. A symphony being conducted by a schizophrenic. There's clear organization to the chaos, but sometimes that return trip downstairs at 8:05 p.m. to turn on outside lights and set the alarm, takes the last bit of energy Jason and I have left at the end of the day. But there's a lot of laughter in those 2 hours and 15 minutes we all have together.
Here's a glimpse...
| Little girl LOVES the bath, just like her big brother. Can't wait to get her in the pool soon! |
| All smiles! |
| Emerson is burying Scarlet under every stuffed animal available on the second floor. You can't really tell, but she loves it. |
| Waiting patiently...(this was evidently a spaghetti night.) |
| "Mom, watch me put this duck in my nose." |
| Recovering from the rinse. |
| 4th meal in our bed...usually consists of sandwich, string cheese, granola bar, banana. Those are not examples. He eats ALL of that for 4th meal every night, which is usually one hour after dinner. |
| Banana evidence. Can't wait to see how he eats when he's a teenager. |
These next two pictures melt my heart...
| Saying good night to sister. |
And...scene.
