To grandmother's house we go...

I (as usual) had the day off today, so we made an impromptu trip with Jes to Lancaster to visit Emerson's Mia. Emerson loves going down there, because he gets to play with all of his Uncle Jared's old toys from the attic! Whistles, trucks, trains, tools...everything boy! He gets to explore closets full of shoes, boxes full of new books and toys, and lots of little nooks and crannies.

And lucky, Emerson...we're leaving tomorrow morning to spend the weekend down there to say goodbye to Jared. Most everyone who reads this blog already knows that Jared joined the marines. He leaves for basic training at Parris Island, SC on Monday for 13 weeks. We're celebrating with friends and family tomorrow night and plan to give him a proper send off. And I hear South Carolina is lovely in October...can't wait for graduation!

The next time we see him, little brother will be a marine.

And a quick video from Mia's house today...Emerson made his Auntie Jes proud with his piano skills. She used to hound me to play with her, and I hated it. Looks like she may have finally found her duet partner!
