Our sweet boy turns 5 years old tomorrow. It's hard to believe that 5 years ago, i went to bed wondering if I would ever have the baby we'd been eagerly awaiting. He made us parents. And when he doesn't have us pulling our hair out, he has us laughing out loud. He's creative, sweet, energetic, mischievous, witty, and incredibly smart. He has a belly laugh at all things slapstick (e.g., Tom & Jerry, 3 Stooges, etc.) that would warm over Satan. There's not a thing about this boy that we'd change. And what a five years we've had!
Five things we love about our boy:
- He has an appetite to rival professional weightlifters. The quantity of his 4th meal every evening continues to amaze us.
- He loves his sister. He continues to express (as recently as a few days ago) that he will be marrying Scarlet when they're older. He loves her. He wants to spend time with her. And hopes they'll be close forever. We're so proud to raise a boy who loves his sibling this much.
- He's fearless. He'll jump off a diving board and go down the tallest slide head first.
- He's shy. He'll tuck in a little closer when walking into a new room, building, or environment for the first time. Especially when it's filled with people.
- He's ours. He kisses us good night. He hugs us goodbye. He says prayers with us every night. And we love him so.
