"Go, babe." --- If I linger too long at a green light. Total mimic of Jason. It sounds like "bebb."
"No, we're good." --- In response to if he and Jason needed anything before I came upstairs.
"Don't eat my food, Daddy." --- If he gets up from the table for a potty trip. Every time. Jason swears he's never taken his food, but I wonder.
"Ello, Guvnah!" --- In his best British accent.
"I love you the most." --- Although he says it to many people, I, of course, think he only means it when he says it to me. Smart boy. The girls are going to love him.
Memory of an elephant!
Recently, he heard the "Goodnight, sweetheart, well, it's time to go..." song and recalled when Jason used to sing that to him as a baby. He often tells me about Mia holding him when he was a baby. I typically chalk this up to him seeing pictures, but I don't rule out that he actually remembers it. And when seeing me with a Yuengling in hand, told me it was Auggie's. This is likely from when we were in Hilton Head and Beth was often seen with baby Auggie in one hand, and a Yuengling in the other. He remembered the can, for Pete's sake.
He continues to tell me about his brothers and sisters in his belly. Currently, "Mylacole" (sister) is on the sidewalk. His two brothers "Shockashow" and "Shockashoe" are in his belly. "Baby Braxton" (a sister) is way way way in his belly. And she's screaming because her leg hurts. But we can't hear her because she's way way way in his belly. (This one concerned me a little bit.) This all traces back to my pregnancy earlier this year as well as lots of school friends getting younger brothers and sisters. Including, you guessed it, Baby Braxton. Braxton is the younger brother of Jet, one of Emerson's very close pals at school. The rest are genuine creations of Emerson.
"That stop sign is an octagon."
In addition to dozens of songs by heart, he can mostly say our prayer at mealtime and bedtime. With a little help, of course. We're impressed lately with his knowledge of shapes, and his ability to find them everywhere. He identified the semicircle trash can. The octagon stop sign. The rectangle chalk board. The pentagon street sign. You get the idea. He's drawing most of these shapes, as well as watermelons, faces, and lots of Fs, Hs, Es and Ls. And all of the Es are "my Es" according to Emerson.
We continue to be amazed, every day, of what this little boy is capable of. He teaches us so much.
These two pictures warm my heart.
He's trying to help Berlynn climb the ramp at the pumpkin farm last weekend.
