Emerson is a complete chatterbox! He'll repeat anything, and seems to learn dozens of words every day. From the basics like apple and water, to names for family and friends!
He repeats at least one word from every sentence spoken to him and knows many phrases. Some favorite phrases include:
- Where did it go - "Whey dee da gooo" (go is said in a notably high pitch)
- Happy birthday - "Happay Badday" (previously 'habba dabba', this one sometimes has an extra syllable on the end)
- Help, please - "Hup, peeeee" (I love his "please". It's always very dramatic.)
- Thank you - "Dink oooo"
- More, please - "Muh, peeeee" (again, with the dramatic "please")
Emerson responds to questions with intentional answers. When his play cell phone asks him if he "wants to come out to play" he always answers back with "noooo", pronounced "neau." (French in a past life???)
It's fascinating to see him learning! Jason and I have always spoken directly with Emerson, but it's so fun to have full blown conversations with him.
A recent favorite word is basketball ("baball"). Emerson had such a great time in Toledo on Easter weekend playing basketball with his cousins, that we decided to get him his own hoop. Let the games begin!
