Christmas Morning

Christmas Morning! We all woke up around 7:30 (SCORE!), and headed downstairs for coffee. I hope we can enjoy the late wake-up for a few more years! That's Emerson's typical wake up time, but it's hard to know what to expect with the crazy holiday schedules. Emerson quickly got excited for opening packages and got through quite a few on round 1. We had to take a break for breakfast!

Emerson opening a few gifts...
Sitting with Uncle Jared and operating the video camera. Quality footage I am sure!
This face epitomizes Emerson over the last few days. Ornery. Actually, that's an understatement. On an ornery scale of 1 to 10, Emerson was a 22.
Opening something fun from Uncle Jared!
(gotta love the superman themed paper)
Jason opening his new Yankees stained glass lamp
Drawing with Uncle Jared on his new sketcher
...and of course wearing his new bomber jacket! Emerson is enjoying the digital frame he got Mia and Poppy
...and especially enjoying the pictures of HIM!
Emerson got so many great things from everyone, but this truck was far and away his favorite toy of the morning. From his Daddy.

While the pictures focus on the things, I can't express enough how important the time we got to spend with our families over the last week has been. We all live hurried lives, and Christmas was exactly what we needed...to slow down and enjoy each other.
