Signs of Summer

It is without a doubt that spring and summer are busy times of year. We have a great group of friends and family we spend lots of time with, and so enjoy! In addition to the social time, we also always have various projects to keep us busy at the house. And we threw in a Memorial Day vacation to Naples (posts coming soon!) in the middle of it all.

We were set on getting some family pictures this summer, both before and after Coach Willie is born. We did maternity photos with Emerson's pregnancy, and really wanted to do them again. My cousin Kyle's wife, Annie, is a wonderful photographer, who captures our family so well! We love her art, and love spending time with them! And since Emerson and Wren are close in age, it always makes for a fun outing.

We've realized as our friends are growing into families of their own, that their jobs are often taking them away from our little Columbus niche. Two years ago, we lost the Sheppards to Kansas. And this year, we lost the Frasures to Wapakoneta. OK, the second is still pretty close, but we were used to having them 5 minutes down the road! No one else is allowed to move away...it makes us too sad!

Emerson and his cousin Wren, playing with their menu telescopes after our photo session.

Kiddos enjoying popsicles at the going-away party for the Frasures. Ignore the beer cans strewn about their feet. The Dads cleaned them up after the photo.

After granite, we had to take down this border. Since Jason hates painting, and I can't get on a ladder, this borderless cream stripe is still there. Will be gone before my maternity leave is over!

Nana Vicki (Mia's best friend and soul mate) turned 60 while we were in Florida at the end of May. So, we donned our best Nana-Vicki-hair, and recorded some fun messages for her. Emerson is kind of a pretty little girl!
